What specifically should be done to lower one’s cholesterol?

Let’s deal initially very briefly with non-dietary factors. These include making sure you get out in the sun everyday and employing a regular regime of exercise of around 30 to 45 minutes duration, such as walking, bike riding or swimming, to aid in strengthening your cardiovascular systemas a whole. foods and hydrogenated oils.

We’ll now set out some of the natural foods that can help lower cholesterol. The fiber found in whole grain foods can aid in preventing the contained in the foods we ingest from entering our blood. Select pastas and breads made from whole grains, and eat brown rather than white rice. You should also try to eat a lot of sprouts, nuts and seaweed as well.

Blueberries, too, are very useful in lowering cholesterol. And try to drink every day a glass of your favorite fruit juice with spirulina and soy protein mixed in.

Try to follow the above guidelines for two months - you should be able to lower your levels . If after following this regime for a couple of months you find that your levels are still too high, you should speak with your doctor about it – you may require a herbal supplement or medication to help lower your levels.
