Great News About the Cold Sores Herpes Virus

by Denny Bodoh

Beware of the damaging cold sores herpes virus. It can be either the herpes simplex virus type 1 or type 2. Both types create similar cold sores. Currently type 1 is responsible for 70%, and type 2 30%, of cold sore events.

One of the tiniest pathogens known to man, the cold sores herpes virus is a master at hiding. This virus particle can hide inside a nerve cell totally undetectable because it has the abil

ity to shut down almost completely during hibernation.

The herpes virus is able to make itself invisible to our body defenses as well as any medicines invented by medical experts to eradicate it. A very shrewd virus indeed.

Because it lives in your nervous system, the cold sores herpes virus can sense quickly when the conditions are right to replicate. The virus will then travel to the surface along its home nerve fiber. It is during this travel you will feel an itching, tingling sensation.

The only reason the cold sores herpes virus becomes active is to replicate. It cannot reproduce itself, like bacteria. Once the virus gets to the surface, it enters a nerve cell and forces the cell to become a virus factory - creating clones.

The cell, once full of new virus, is exploded, releasing the newly created copies. Millions of these cells destroyed close together creates the cold sore wound. The body begins to cleanse the area by creating a clear fluid to carry the new virus away.

This fluid is extremely contagious. You can infect different areas of your own body or that of a friend or loved one. Use cotton balls or tissue with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to help keep the wound sanitary. Try not to touch it with your fingers.

The cold sores herpes virus is quite destructive, but luckily the damage is limited to the surface. If not, it would definitely be a deadly disease.

Stress has been directly linked to cold sores - and this is why.

Stress causes changes in our immune system, hormones, bodily functions and pH balance. If you are in excellent physical health, you can take a lot more stress changes before cold sores occur. If you get frequent cold sores, or colds, you really should improve your nutritional intake.

Many folks have reduced the effects of stress by merely taking a good vitamin supplement program. Some other nutritional improvements to reduce stress and prevent cold sores could be increasing your intake of organic fresh vegetables. Also, eating high lysine foods, or taking a lysine supplement, will help you greatly.

There are so many different ways to treat cold sores that there is just not time to cover them right now. But, I would like to give you a tip that I am sure will help you quickly.

One of the most common methods of treating cold sores is the application of ice or some other cold object. If applied early, at the first sign of itching or tingling, this can stall out or prevent a cold sore. After the cold sore actually breaks out, then use a warm object such as a tea bag to help heal quickly.

If you suffer from the destructive effects of this virus, you are not alone. But the good news is - you do not have to. As mentioned earlier, there are many proven effective ways you can use right now to heal and prevent the outbreaks caused by the cold sores herpes virus.
