These phytonutrient contained in apples help keep various cancers as prostrate, lungs and that of the bladder and also the fatal cardiovascular disorders at bay.
Apples are also rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber which slows down the oxidation of low density lipoproteins, the culprits which form plaques that attach themselves to the inner walls of the blood vessels and block the flow of blood, leading to stroke.
Another very crucial benefit of apple is its role in inhabiting the detrimental effects of dihydrotestasterone (DHT) which leads to baldness in men. The isoflavones contained in apple and green tea do so by stopping the action of alpha-5-reductase which catalyzes the conversion of desirable testosterone into the undesirable DHT.
Apples contain vitamin B2 which upkeeps the maintenance of skin and also boosts hair growth. The other mineral nutrients contained therein are folic acid, vitamin C, iron, potassium, zinc, magnesium etc.
