Here we go again - our FDA is out to protect multinational drug companies at the expense of US citizens like you and me.

Avandia is a diabetic drug manufactured for type II diabetes which is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, an English company (that's where the profits go after we have paid dearly out of our pockets).

Many of you will remember the fiasco of the Vioxx scandal in 2004. If you recall the media was forced to report a story about the dangers of COX II inhibitors (Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrix) because they were related to causing heart attacks and strokes in over 160,000 people in the US alone. Merck pharmaceuticals - the manufacture of Vioxx - and the powers that be in the FDA knew Vioxx was causing deaths in people for 5 years and they did nothing about it except pocket millions of dollars in profits.

For some unknown reason (probably corporate greed) Bextra and Celebrix were not removed from the market. They have caused deaths, but the numbers were 'maybe' not as high as Vioxx deaths and disability - the approximate numbers for Vioxx was sixty thousand deaths from heart attacks and strokes and 100,000 disabled. Vioxx and Cox II inhibitors were prescribed to cover up pain from arthritis. Medicine and drug companies don't want to recognize that arthritis is cause by some thing that is preventable - "Pain Free in 6 Weeks" by Sherry Rogers, MD www.prestigepublishing.com - because they cannot make money if you're aware of this knowledge. Instead of preventing arthritis, they choose to cover the symptoms and make millions of dollars, while people die or loose quality of life.

The new dilemma is Avandia, which is a new drug for type II diabetes, in the U.S. alone; there has been a 43% increase in the rate of heart attacks. This has been known for several years but once again the FDA is siding with the drug company to protect their profits while our people die.

This drug is being used for a disease which is almost totally preventable. Our nation has been duped into believing type II diabetes in inevitable and can't be prevented, so we are to give up and take toxic medications which in this case can cause death with heart disease. Many people on Avandia are also taking heart medications to keep from dieing. How is that for a money maker? A patient will be given one drug for a preventable disease which thereby causes another disease. As a result, other drugs are then prescribed. The drug company then makes money on two drugs (or more) instead of 'zero' money on a healthy person.

You've got to love this country in which a wealthy corporation can kill you to become wealthier and never be tried for murder, or as a thief, while the federal agency - the FDA - is complicit and covers up the crime.

Sugar diabetes got its name because sugar causes sugar diabetes (today it is mostly high fructose corn syrup - one of the most unhealthy products that we can put between our teeth - that is very fattening and is made from Genetically Modified corn [a Franken Food].

One hundred years ago there was very little diabetes (type I is a different health problem) and people only consumed about 6 pounds of sugar in one year. Today the average person eats or drinks about 150 to 160 pounds of sugar and high fructose corn syrup per year.

The sad truth is that diabetes is preventable if you eliminate sugar and most grain carbs from you diet, but medicine and drug companies don't want to relinquish this fact. Doctors believe patients are too stupid or lazy to follow a healthy regimen to prevent diabetes so they go from diagnosis to drugs with little explanation. Maybe this happens because when a person receives the diagnosis he or she has diabetes, this patient has just added about $300,000 dollars into the doctor's pocket for treatment before this patient expires. Three hundred thousand dollars will buy a lot of BMW's and/or million dollar houses.

All of this information comes back to the fact that we need to educate ourselves and to become responsible for ourselves and our families. It is fine to work with a doctor, but the key phrase here is "work with" not succumb to becoming more unhealthy because of medicines desire to make money at any cost (the cost in this case is becoming more unhealthy by toxic drugs).
