Is Your Doctor A Corporate Alien?

by George Lunt

Sooner or later we all have to deal with the Medical Establishment. The right doctor can genuinely help us, if he can properly diagnose and treat our illness. These days, many professionals can't be trusted. They might have a hidden agenda that is drastically different from the Hippocratic oath. It's up to us to learn as much as we can about our ailments to make sure we're getting the proper treatment.

My personal expe

rience with orthodox medicine has not been pleasant. A few years ago an elderly lady I knew went to her doctor to get a basic physical checkup. The exam led to surgery and within a month she died while recuperating in the hospital. Even if she did have cancer, she would have lived a lot longer without any medical intervention.

My own father was kept alive for eight months after he first submitted himself to the medical establishment. Even though his cancer was not cured, and he went through a lot of suffering for those eight months, the doctors wound up collecting over 100,000 dollars from Medicare and his personal savings. That was in 1984; medical costs would be considerably higher now.

A friend recently told me that a doctor he was seeing dropped him as a patient for questioning the value of the doctor's suggested surgery. My friend found out that this doctor was performing twenty-five of these surgeries per week. On some days this doctor would see fifty patients.

It seems that many doctors are more concerned about money than their commitment to the Hippocratic oath. The more patients they see, the more they make. Yet, they can't give each patient enough time to properly diagnose his or her condition. The more surgeries they perform the more they make. Yet, many times, non surgical means would serve the patient's welfare better. The more drugs they push, the more kickbacks they get from drug companies. Yet, some drugs may do more harm than good. Many doctors have become rich and possibly dangerous corporate aliens.

A popular statistic of firearms enthusiasts states that doctors cause more accidental deaths than gun owners. In the United States there are about 700,000 doctors. There are 120,000 deaths caused by physician mistakes. There are 80 million gun owners. There are 1,500 accidental deaths from their guns. This amounts to 0.171 deaths per physician and 0.0000188 deaths per gun. Consequently, your chances from dying at the hands of a doctor are 9,000 times greater than being shot by a registered gun owner.

Did you ever hear the word "iatrogenic"? This word was coined to describe medical mistakes. It is defined as "a condition due to the action of a physician or a therapy the doctor prescribed, especially an infection or other complication of treatment." There is even an American Iatrogenic Association "devoted to the study and reporting of medical errors that lead to disease and death." Their website is http://www.iatrogenic.org.

Not all doctors are corporate aliens dedicated only to financial gain. Many still worry about the welfare of their patients. In a corporate alien dominated world it is becoming harder and harder to survive without caving in to the interests of the establishment. Because of the high cost of Medical Schools, a young doctor has an enormous student loan to pay back. In addition, a doctor must cover an extraordinarily high bill for malpractice insurance. All this translates into overworking, seeing as many patients as possible, making hasty diagnoses, and recommending the kind of drugs that pay the best dividends. This process can be likened to the "Star Wars Saga." The establishment resembles the "dark side." It is constantly turning well meaning "Anakin Skywalkers" into greedy "Darth Vaders."

What we see on television promoted by the establishment as medical facts, are actually being challenged by other medical doctors and researchers. Here are some common challenges to orthodox medical thinking.

  • Many doctors and researchers say that lowering Cholesterol to prevent heart attacks is a myth perpetuated by drug companies to sell statin drugs like Lipitor and Crestor. Uffe Ravnskov, MD, PhD, a Danish physician makes a convincing argument that people with high cholesterol live longer and healthier than those with low cholesterol. Why haven't we heard about his arguments in the conventional media? http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm
  • Vaccines are dangerous and everyone should stay away from them. Why then does the media advise people to get a flu vaccine every year? http://www.vaccinationdebate.com/web2.html
  • Are all the Mastectomies performed by conventional doctors necessary? Diana Zuckerman, Ph.D. says that one out of every two women probably didn't need this type of surgery. There is a push by the media for women to get breast exams. If cancer is found, will the treatment still be Mastectomy, even though there are better alternatives for the patient? http://www.center4research.org/health8.html
  • There could be a medical hazard from a popular product. It's addictive, used by everyone, has been accepted by the masses, and pushed daily by the mass media. Like that of cigarettes in the past, its hazards are denied by its manufacturers. More and more research is coming out documenting its harmful effects. It's the cell phone! It could mean big money for doctors in the not too distant future, especially brain tumor specialists. http://www.cnet.com/4520-6033_1-5741203-1.html
There are hundreds of medical topics that disagree with accepted conventional belief. I've looked at just a small sample. In this corporate alien driven society, we only get the truth if it does not conflict with established power and financial goals. Otherwise it is up to us as individuals to try to get as much as we can about an issue before we blindly embrace the "accepted" point of view. If you are ever faced with some illness, find out as many approaches to the treatment of your illness as you can, from both orthodox and alternative medical camps. It's your life; don't trust some overworked professional to choose a "typical" treatment for you. I know one thing, when I get sick, I'll examine all the options and make sure that my doctor is not a corporate alien.
