Affordable Diabetes Medications By Online Pharmacies

by Ronn Jones

Diabetes is a syndrome in which blood glucose levels are abnormally and inappropriately high, resulting from either low levels of the hormone insulin or from abnormal resistance to insulin's effects coupled with inadequate levels of insulin secretion to compensate. Most of the food we eat is turned into glucose, or sugar, for our bodies to use for energy. The pancreas makes a hormone called insulin to he

lp glucose get into the cells of our bodies. The body of a diabetic patient either doesn't make enough insulin or can't use its own insulin causing sugar to build up in the patient's blood. A diabetic patient is prone to serious health complications including heart disease, blindness, kidney failure, and lower-extremity amputations.

Serious long-term complications include increased risk of cardiovascular disease, chronic renal failure, retinal damage that can ultimately lead to blindness, nerve damage, and micro vascular damage, causing impotence and poor healing. Slow healing of wounds, particularly of the feet, can lead to gangrene, which may require amputation. So it becomes really important to diagnose and get proper treatments and medication for diabetes at its early stage. Some of the common symptoms are frequent urination, excessive thirst, unexplained weight loss, extreme hunger, sudden vision changes, tingling or numbness in hands and feet, tired feeling most of the time, dry skin, slow healing sores and unusually frequent infections.

According to the World Health Organization, there are three forms of diabetes - Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes that generally occurs during pregnancy. They have similar signs, symptoms, and consequences, but different causes and population distributions. Basically all forms of diabetes are due to the fact that the beta cells in the pancreas cannot produce sufficient insulin to prevent hyperglycemia but their causes vary. Type 1 diabetes is usually due to autoimmune destruction of the pancreatic beta cells whereas Type 2 diabetes occurs due to insulin resistance in target tissues, which causes the need for abnormally high amounts of insulin. The case of Gestational diabetes is almost similar to the Type 2 diabetes. The hormones of pregnancy cause insulin resistance in women.

Type 2 diabetes is generally common in African Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, American Indians, and some Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders while Gestational diabetes occurs more commonly in African Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans, American Indians, and people with a family history of diabetes than in other groups. The risk factors for Type 1 are less defined.

Diabetes is a chronic disease, without a cure, and medical emphasis must necessarily be on managing/avoiding possible short-term as well as long-term diabetes-related problems. The common treatments for diabetes are healthy eating, physical activity, and insulin injections. Careful control is needed to reduce the risk of long-term complications. These medications are quite expensive, especially as they require to be continued for a long time to keep the disease under control. Thankfully, online pharmacies have made possible distribution of these medications at a much cheaper price. Online pharmacies are not only popular for being cost effective but also because of the quality of medicines they sell. Diabetes medications are provided by these online pharmacies at a much cheaper rate and this helps millions of people worldwide to maintain control over this potentially harmful syndrome. Thus it can be concluded that the online pharmacies have come as a boon to the Diabetics.
