Diabetes Testing Is Now EasierThan Ever

What seemed to be an enormous task is now simplified. Diabetes testing includes a series of testing as just one or two tests are not sufficient enough to announce one is suffering from diabetes. People do not visit a doctor normally and therefore, many people diagnosed with diabetes have already developed serious complications.
Symptoms of diabetes are: One can notice certain symptoms during diabetes such as
weight loss, unusual thirst, excessive urination, constant fatigue instead of good appetite. Long term effect of diabetes are high blood pressure, Coronary heart disease and stroke, High cholesterol, Eye damage and blindness, Kidney failure, Nerve damage, Leg ulcers etc. You must immediately see a doctor if you often get cramps, infections, slow healing wounds or when your hands and feet often feel numb. There are two types of diabetes and they are Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes testing can diagnose it. Type 1 diabetes is usually associated with children, teenage and young adults. In this form of diabetes the beta cells of the pancreas stops producing insulin.
Type 2 diabetes is associated with adults and is the most common form of diabetes. This form of diabetes usually begins with insulin resistance, an improper condition in which fat, muscle, and liver cells do not use insulin properly. The pancreas keeps producing insulin but later gives up and fails to keep up the demand. With time, however, it loses the ability to secrete enough insulin in response to meals.
Following are some of the diabetes testing methods. Blood test: This test is done to find out presence of ketones and sugar in the blood. Blood glucose tests are mainly taken to measure the level of glucose in the blood. This is one of the important tests in diabetes testing. Urine test: the level of sugar or ketone in the urine can be determined by taking a urine test.
Glycosylated Haemoglobin test: When level of free glucose is higher in the blood it tends to attach with the red blood cells. This test is done to measure glucose level that is attached to the red blood cells. In the blood the concentration of glucose attached molecules is higher in diabetic patients as compared to non diabetic patients because of the body's inability to use insulin. The hemoglobin A1C test is also done to check level of glucose in the blood. In a non-diabetic person this remains from 4 to 6%. This is an important diabetes test.
Glucose tolerance test: This test includes taking a small portion of blood from your arm and test for glucose.
You may have following results after Glucose tolerance test. Impaired fasting glucose, Impaired Glucose tolerance, Diabetes or normal.
