Pre-Pregnancy Counseling
Our program of pre-pregnancy counseling includes fertility awareness, nutritional counseling, conscious conception, and the process of creating balance in your body. Referrals to fertility specialists are available when needed.
Prenatal Care
The Hollywood Birth Center's prenatal care emphasizes creating and maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle during pregnancy. We help women to accomplish this through nutrition and exercise as well as through the use of herbs, counseling, and education. We offer all basic diagnostic testing and/or arrange referrals.
Natural Birth & Parenting Classes
A six-week series of classes, covering all aspects of labor & birth, breastfeeding, natural baby care and attachment parenting is provided to all our clients.
Birth Center Births
Our freestanding Birth Center is in a beautifully restored 1918 Craftsman-style home in the heart of Hollywood.
Home Births
We provide labor, birth and postpartum care in the familiarity, comfort and convenience of your own home.
Water Birth
The Hollywood Birth Center encourages the use of its deep and spacious birth tub in the birthing room. For home births, we provide a portable birthing pool at no extra charge. Most women experience both physical & emotional comfort laboring in warm water.
Lactation Support
We will support you and your baby to ensure that both of you fully benefit from the experience of nursing.
Postpartum Care & Newborn Parent Support
For all of our clients, We provide postpartum exams in your home at 24 hours, 3 days and 7 days. We are on call for you and your baby 24 hours during the six-week postpartum period.
Well-Woman Gynecology
All basic gynecological testing is available at The Hollywood Birth Center: pregnancy testing, PAP smears, breast exams, vaginal and urine cultures, confidential HIV and STD testing and natural remedies for PMS. In addition to natural birth control methods, we also offer cervical caps, diaphragms and Depo-Provera™.
