Stress Link To Breast Cancer ? By Anonymous, Thu Dec 8th
WOMEN with high levels of stress in their everyday lives are atless risk than others of developing for the firsttime, according to research. Scientists from Denmark drew their conclusions after studying6,689 women for 18 years, and speculated that it may be becausedaily stress suppressed production of oestrogen, which is a riskfactor in breast cancer. "Prolonged low key stress of everyday life results in apersistent activation of stress hormones which may impairoestrogen synthesis and
may therefore be related to lower riskof breast cancer," they wrote.
However, they pointed out that this theory was untested anddeserved greater investigation. But they warned that stress wasnot a health cure, since high levels had also been linked tohigher risk of heart disease.
